The foyer has been designed to house the audiences of big TV-show productions and the large building can accommodate up to 800 guests. We were asked to redesign the interior soon after its completion – to create a more welcoming atmosphere. To accomplish this we proposed a simple and effective strategy: colour, reduction and the value of materiality. The new flooring consists of massive large-scale oak-planks to create a spacious, yet intimate feeling. All the other structural elements have been painted black to create an invisible background. The foyer has been conceived as a black room where guests feel as if they were on stage, with the glow of the floating lights overhead.
